Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg apples
  • 6 tbsp raisins
  • 5 ½ tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cl Calvados
  • ½ tsp clove powder
  • 5 ½ lemons, juice
  • 200 ml apple cider
  • 150 g flour
  • 75 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 90 g butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 10 minutes

Soak the raisins in apple cider for about 1 hour. Peel the apples, remove the cores, and cut them into wedges. Braise them on the stovetop with 1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar, the cinnamon, Calvados, clove powder, lemon juice, and the pickled raisins, but do not overcook the apples! Place the mixture on a baking sheet. Combine the flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Melt the butter and add it. Knead the crumble. Sprinkle the crumble over the apple mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 30 minutes.
