Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g fat (pork fat, flax)
  • 3 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 500 g apples, sour

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Finely chop the fat and sauté in a saucepan. Then sieve to remove any large pieces. Return the fat to a large saucepan. Peel and dice the onions, and add them. Peel and core the apples, also dice them, add them to the lard and onions, and cook in the fat over low heat for 40-45 minutes, stirring frequently. Pour the lard into tightly sealed jars and let cool. It’s delicious on fresh bread with a little coarse salt.
