Apple – orange – banana puree with a shot

Spread the love

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 12 apples, peeled, pitted and cut into pieces
  • 3 small oranges, the juice (or 2 large ones)
  • 2 small bananas, with peel weighing approx. 220g (or 1 large)
  • 7 tbsp sugar, brown
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 4 cl whiskey (or 8 tbsp)

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

a slightly different applesauce

Place the apples, orange juice, sugar, vanilla sugar, and 2 cl whiskey in a saucepan and simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes. Blend the mixture with a hand blender until it becomes a puree. Mash the bananas by hand and add them to the puree along with the remaining whiskey. Blend everything again with a hand blender and simmer for about 3-5 minutes. Pour the puree into hot, rinsed jars and let it cool. I made five 350g jars. The puree should only have a very light banana flavor, so be careful about the weight of the bananas (see ingredients above!). Tastes delicious with potato pancakes, pancakes, natural yogurt, or slightly warmed with vanilla ice cream.
