Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 sheets of frozen puff pastry (approx. 250 g)
  • 50 g butter, soft
  • 350 g sweet and sour apples (Elstar)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • whipped cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Preheat oven to 210 degrees Celsius (425 degrees Fahrenheit). Place the puff pastry sheets, leaving some space between them, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spread half of the butter on top. Wash, peel, quarter, and core the apples. Thinly slice the fruit and arrange them on the puff pastry sheets. Drizzle the apples with lemon juice and then sprinkle with sugar. Bake the tartlets on the middle rack for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the remaining butter, brush the tartlets with it, and bake for another 10 minutes. Remove the tartlets from the oven and let cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. They taste best when lukewarm. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream!
