Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour, smooth
  • 250 g butter or margarine
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 shot of rum
  • breadcrumbs
  • 5 large apples or 6
  • 1 egg white for brushing
  • possibly raisins
  • possibly cinnamon
  • possibly sugar
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes

Made from shortcrust pastry, rolled

Knead the above ingredients, including the rum, into a shortcrust pastry, let it rest for half an hour. Then divide it in half and roll it out. Sprinkle the bases with breadcrumbs, top with coarsely grated apples, sprinkle with raisins and cinnamon sugar, and roll them up. Place them seam-down on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with egg white and bake at 180°C for about 40 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving, if desired. My tip: Roll out the dough on a kitchen towel with a little flour; it will then be easier to roll up.
