Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Put the flour in a mixing bowl and make a well in the pan. Crumble the yeast and add it. Add the milk and 1 tablespoon of sugar to the yeast, stir until smooth, and cover and let rise for about 15 minutes. Add the remaining sugar, vanilla sugar, butter, and egg, and knead everything together. Let rise for another 30 minutes. Roll out the dough and press into a greased 28 cm springform pan, pulling up the edges slightly. For the topping, mix the crème fraîche, egg, and vanilla sugar until smooth and spread on the dough. Peel the apples and cut into wedges. Arrange them fan-shaped over the crème fraîche and sprinkle with almonds. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (160°C fan-assisted oven) for about 25-30 minutes. Heat the jam, spread it over the apples, and sprinkle the edges with powdered sugar. Serve the apple tart lukewarm with (cinnamon) cream, if desired.
