Tarte Tatin

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 160 g flour
  • 80 g butter, cold
  • 20 g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp water, cold (if necessary)
  • 1 ½ kg apples
  • 80 g butter
  • 160 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Quickly knead the dough ingredients, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate. Peel and core the apples, then quarter them. Brush the glass dish with butter and pour in the sugar. Place the apple quarters tightly in the dish, pointy-side down. Place the dish on the stovetop and caramelize the sugar over low heat for about 15 minutes. If the sugar browns too quickly, remove the dish from the heat occasionally. Then place the dish in the oven preheated to 190°C for 5 minutes. Roll out the dough into a round lid slightly larger than the dish, place it over the apple, and tuck the overhanging edge in at the sides. Prick the lid several times with a fork. Bake in the preheated oven at 190°C for 30 minutes. Remove the tarte tatin from the oven, let it rest for 8 minutes, and then turn it out.
