Apple tartlets

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 roll of toffee dough (refrigerated counter), approx. 275 g
  • n. B. Apples, small, approx. 2 – 3
  • some lemon juice
  • 50 g butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • some cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp almond flakes, approx.
  • some powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream as a dessert

Toast the flaked almonds in a dry pan until golden brown. Let cool on a plate. Quarter the apples (use small ones if possible), core them, and slice them lengthwise into thin slices. Sprinkle with a little lemon juice to prevent browning, and set aside, covered, until ready to use. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat) and line a baking sheet with baking paper. Use a glass to cut out 12 circles of approximately 8 cm in diameter from the puff pastry and place them on the baking sheet. Arrange the apples on the circles, leaving a small border all around. Melt the butter and honey in the microwave or on the stovetop, mix well with the cinnamon, and brush the mixture onto the apples with a pastry brush. Bake the tartlets for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and/or flaked almonds, if desired. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream as a dessert, or cooled with whipped cream for coffee. The tartlets should be eaten as fresh as possible.
