Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 slice(s) puff pastry, frozen
- 5 apples
- some butter
- cane sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- some whipped cream (liquid)
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
when things need to go quickly
Thaw the frozen puff pastry. Preheat the oven (top/bottom heat) to 200°C. Peel the apples and cut them into pieces. Heat a little butter and brown sugar in a pan and brown the apple pieces. Let them cool slightly. Spread the stewed apples in portions on one half of the puff pastry. Brush the edges thinly with egg yolk (whipped with a little whipped cream), fold over with the other half, and press the edges together with a fork. Brush the apple turnovers with egg yolk, score them with a knife, and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake at 200°C until golden brown.
