Applesauce with ginger and chili

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg apples, they should be nice and juicy
  • 1 piece(s) ginger, small, to taste
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and core the apples, and cut them into large pieces. Add sugar—not too much at first; you can always sweeten it later. Peel and finely chop the ginger and add the finely ground dried chilies. Add ginger and chili to taste. These two spices shouldn’t overpower the taste. I’ve been making our applesauce this way for some time—not too sweet, with a light ginger flavor. And only after a while does the slight chili heat come through. Just try it—it tastes great. I prepare my applesauce in the microwave—it’s quick and mess-free. But you can, of course, also make it on the stovetop.
