Are Peanuts Healthy? Carbohydrates and Ingredients Сhecked

Are Peanuts Healthy? This is what legumes contain

Despite a large amount of fat that peanuts contain, they do not make you fat – quite the contrary. The small legumes contain valuable nutrients:

  • Peanuts contain 16 grams of carbohydrates per 100 grams, four of which are sugar.
  • Peanuts consist of 25 percent protein and are therefore a good source of protein.
  • The vitamin E in peanuts (about 10 percent) slows down the aging of body cells and prevents vascular diseases.
  • Peanuts contain a lot of magnesium, about 48 milligrams are in 30 grams of peanuts. It helps muscles work and regenerate.
  • An American study by Purdue University showed that peanuts lower cholesterol levels. This can prevent heart disease.
  • Eating peanuts has a positive effect on triglyceride levels, i.e. blood lipid levels. People with elevated blood lipid levels tend to be overweight and have an increased risk of thrombosis, arteriosclerosis, strokes, and heart attacks.

Legumes can also be unhealthy

When consuming peanut products, you should make sure that they do not contain any unhealthy ingredients.

  • Peanuts that are roasted and salted in fat, such as canned ones, are less healthy.
  • Peanut butter with hydrogenated fats isn’t healthy either. You will find a note on the packaging of these products.
  • Instead, you should use products without additives if possible. The healthiest are untreated peanuts that still have the reddish skins on them. These contain valuable antioxidants.
