Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 tsp ginger, freshly grated
- 1 garlic clove(s), finely diced
- 1 tsp sugar
- 4 tbsp cornstarch
- 7 tbsp soy sauce
- 500 g broccoli
- 350 ml water
- 3 tbsp peanut oil
- 600 g lean beef, cut into thin strips
- 2 onions, cut into thin slices
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Mix grated ginger, garlic, and sugar with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 3 tablespoons of soy sauce. Add the beef and let it stand for at least 15 minutes. Trim the broccoli and cut the florets into bite-sized pieces. Mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 3 tablespoons of soy sauce and 350 ml of water. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok, stir-fry the beef for about 3 minutes, then remove. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil to the wok and stir-fry the broccoli and onions until al dente. Then add the beef and the soy sauce-water mixture and bring to a boil until the sauce thickens. Season to taste with a little more soy sauce, if desired. Best served over rice.
