Asparagus in the oven

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g asparagus, white and green, half each
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tomatoes (alternatively cherry tomatoes), quartered
  • 100 g butter, melted
  • Olive oil for greasing
  • basil
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Black pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Grease two sheets of aluminum foil thoroughly with olive oil. Arrange the peeled white and green asparagus on top. Season the asparagus with a little sugar, salt, and pepper. Then spread the melted butter over the asparagus (I use wild garlic butter if you have it). Sprinkle with finely chopped garlic cloves, onion, quartered tomatoes, and basil. Seal the foil and cook the asparagus in a preheated oven at approximately 200°C (400°F) for about 25-30 minutes. Thick asparagus spears can take up to 45 minutes.
