Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 baguette(s)
- 400 g onion(s)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 125 g bacon
- 150 ml wine, white, dry
- 125 ml cream
- salt and pepper
- 1 pt. cheese, grated, to taste or any other cheese as desired
- 1 bunch of parsley
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Cut the baguette in half crosswise and then lengthwise. Dice the bacon, fry, and set aside. Preheat oven to 220 degrees Celsius (425 degrees Fahrenheit). Slice the onions into rings, finely chop the garlic, and sauté both over low heat, possibly with a little water; the onions should not brown. Add the wine, salt, and pepper, simmer for about 10 minutes. Pour in the cream, add the bacon, and continue simmering over low heat until a creamy mixture forms, adding more liquid if necessary. Add the finely chopped parsley and spread the mixture on the bread. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for about 10 minutes on the second rack from the top. You can also use cooked ham, smoked pork sausage, or pork sausage instead of bacon. Sorry if the liquid measurements aren’t entirely accurate; I always do everything “as I please” and can only estimate afterward ;-).
