Bacon and Apple Dip

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 70 g smoked streaky bacon (breakfast bacon), cut into fine cubes
  • 25 g onion(s), finely diced
  • ½ g garlic, finely chopped (equivalent to about 2 – 3 thin slices)
  • 100 g apple with peel, without core, diced
  • 0.8 g Baharat spice mix (equivalent to approx. ¼ tsp)
  • 300 g cream cheese
  • 70 g yogurt, natural e.g. 3.5%
  • 3 sprigs of parsley, flat, finely chopped
  • 1 pinch(s) black pepper, freshly ground
  • some lemon zest

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Fondue sauce – also tastes very good with briefly roasted pork

Brown the diced bacon over medium heat. Add the finely diced onions and garlic and sauté. Add the apple cubes, season with Baharat, and stir frequently until the apple pieces are slightly heated but still firm. Remove the bacon and apple mixture from the heat and let cool. Mix the cream cheese with the yogurt and finely chopped flat-leaf parsley. Add the bacon and apple mixture and blend until smooth. Season to taste with a little grated lemon zest and a pinch of pepper.
