Bacon Powder Vegan and Non-vegan
The perfect bacon powder vegan and non-vegan recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Bacon powder basic basis:
- 6 tbsp Corn starch / potato starch
- 3 tbsp Corn flour / wheat flour
- 1 tbsp Sunflower oil
- 1 tsp Beet juice syrup
- 0,5 tsp Salt
Optionally, further additions are possible:
- 1 tbsp Milk powder
- 1 tsp Savory
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 tsp Dried celery leaves
- 0,5 tsp Smoked salt
non-vegan additional option:
- 1 Splash Liquid smoke / sausage water
- 1 tbsp Dark meat stock
- 1 tsp Homemade sugar couleur, see KB
- 0,5 tsp Brown sugar
Sauce thickener:
- Measure out all the ingredients and mix loosely in a mixing bowl to a slightly greasy, but otherwise dry, powder.
Use:
- For quick enrichment and thickening of soups and sauces. Simply stir with cold liquid (e.g. milk or water) and heat it in a saucepan to make the basic sauce.
Storage:
- The powder can be stored dry at room temperature in a screw-capped jar for up to 4 weeks.
