Baked cheese eggs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g thinly sliced ​​breakfast bacon
  • 150 g Emmental cheese slices
  • 100 g crème fraîche
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tbsp mineral water
  • 8 small eggs
  • 50 g Emmental cheese, grated
  • ½ bunch chives
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • nutmeg

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

quick and hearty

Fry the bacon in a heatproof pan until crispy and brown. Remove from the heat and add the cheese slices to the pan. Whisk together the crème fraîche, egg yolks and mineral water, season with salt, paprika and nutmeg. Spread half of the mixture on the cheese. Crack the eggs open and carefully drop them into the pan. Spread the remaining crème fraîche mixture on the egg whites and sprinkle with the grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven (200 degrees Celsius / Gas Mark 3) for approx. 15 minutes until the eggs are set. Wash the chives, pat dry and cut into fine rolls. Sprinkle the eggs with this and serve in the pan.
