Baked meatballs

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 150 g medium-aged cheese
  • Basil, some stems
  • Fat, for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Finely dice the onions. Knead the ground beef, onions, eggs, breadcrumbs, and seasonings together and form small meatballs. Fry the meatballs in oil. Slice the tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Coarsely grate one-third of the cheese. Slice the rest. Grease an ovenproof dish and layer the meatballs, tomato slices, and cheese. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Grill under the oven for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle chopped basil over the dish before serving.
