Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,000 g pear(s), peeled, cleaned and chopped
  • 1 package of gelling sugar, 2:1
  • 200 g walnuts, whole or chopped
  • 50 g honey or brown sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 10 grains of allspice, whole or crushed
  • 1 tbsp spice mix (apple pie spice)
  • 2 cl Amaretto, rum or honey liqueur

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Melt the honey (sugar) in a pan and let it caramelize slightly. Add the walnuts and toss until they are completely coated with the honey (sugar). Let cool. Place the pears, gelling sugar, and spices in a large saucepan and simmer gently for at least 4 minutes, blending with a hand blender if necessary. Add the walnuts and schnapps, bring back to a boil briefly, remove the vanilla and cinnamon sticks, and fill the prepared twist-off jars to the brim while still hot. Let cool.
