Baked mustard eggs

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 20 g margarine
  • 150 g cheese (Gouda), medium-aged
  • 200 g whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • Salt
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 sprigs marjoram
  • possibly milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Grease an ovenproof dish with margarine and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of grated cheese. Whisk the cream with the mustard and 4 tablespoons of grated cheese. Then lightly salt and pour into the dish. Crack the eggs into the dish, drop them into the dish, and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Top with marjoram and bake in the oven at 180°C for 30 minutes until golden brown. For a bit more sauce, I dilute the cream with a generous splash of milk. I recommend serving it with baked potato wedges, baguette or toast, and, of course, a glass of Vina Zara.
