Baked porcini mushrooms Italian style

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg porcini mushrooms, fresh
  • 0.2 liters of olive oil
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 bunch thyme, chopped
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • some pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Slice the porcini mushrooms and place them on a baking sheet well greased with olive oil. Then evenly sprinkle the mushrooms with salt, pepper, chopped thyme, and crushed garlic. Then sprinkle the breadcrumbs over them, and spread the remaining olive oil as evenly as possible. Bake everything in a preheated oven at 250 degrees Celsius (480 degrees Fahrenheit) with top heat for a maximum of 10 minutes. Some people prefer the porcini mushrooms only half cooked and baked for a correspondingly shorter time. Serve with Italian white bread.
