Spread the love

Ingredients for 20 servings:

  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 100 g minced meat
  • 60 g shrimp(s), chopped
  • ½ carrot(s), grated
  • 1 garlic clove(s), chopped
  • ½ onion(s), chopped
  • 2 tsp ginger, chopped
  • 2 spring onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp coriander, fresh, chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg(s), beaten
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 20 chives (approx. 7 – 9 cm long)

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Wontons shaped into small “money bags” and deep-fried with a delicious filling of minced meat and shrimp.

Lightly brown the garlic in a little oil, then add the onion and ginger and sauté briefly. Then add the minced meat and fry until cooked through and very lightly browned. Then add the shrimp, carrot, and spring onions. Season with salt, pepper, soy sauce, and sugar and continue frying until the shrimp are cooked through. Let it cool slightly and stir in the coriander. Place the chives in a bowl, pour hot water over them, and blanch for a few seconds. This will make it easier to tie them around the pockets later. Place about a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper, brush the edges with the beaten egg, fold over, form small “money bags,” and tie them with the chives. Deep-fry for about 4-5 minutes (at 170°C) until golden brown and serve with something like sweet chili sauce.
