Baking: Favorite Flatbread
The perfect baking: favorite flatbread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
* For painting
- 1,5 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Chilli (cayenne pepper)
- Can also be left out
- 200 ml Lukewarm water
- 0,5 Yeast cubes
- 3 tbsp Milk
- 1 Egg
- 1 Egg yolk
- Or 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- Mix the flour, salt, sugar and chilli powder (I sometimes do it with and sometimes without). Dissolve the yeast in the water and then add to the flour along with the milk and egg. Knead everything together using the dough hook of the food processor.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place (e.g. on the heater) for at least 30 minutes until the volume has roughly doubled.
- Then knead again lightly with floured hands. Shape into a ball, press it flat and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Mix the egg yolk or milk with olive oil and brush the bread with it.
- Then put in the oven and bake at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes until light brown.
- TIP: Before baking, spray the oven with the help of a flower sprayer from all sides (inside) or put a bowl of warm water in it. This prevents the bread from drying out when it is baked.
