Baking: Marbled Sponge Cake

- 250 g Soft butter
- 250 g Sugar
- 4 piece Eggs separated
- 350 g Flour
- 50 g Food starch
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 Teaspoon, heaped Baking powder
- 5 tablespoon Strawberry jam
- 4 tablespoon Powdered sugar
- 1 shot Lemon juice
- Mix the butter, sugar and egg yolks until frothy. Add the flour with baking powder and cornstarch and carefully fold into the dough together with the egg white, which has been beaten to a stiff snow, and a pinch of salt.
- Grease a dish and sprinkle with ground almonds.
- Now carefully fold the strawberry jam under the dough with a fork – DO NOT STIRRY – so that the dough is only permeated with the jam.
- Fill into the mold, smooth it out and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes. (Chopstick sample)
- Mix some strawberry jam with lemon juice and powdered sugar and cover the hot cake with it.
