Baking Meatloaf: How to Prepare It

Bake meatloaf – you need that

To bake the meatloaf, you need the so-called meatloaf. This is the dough from which the dish will be made. You can buy this from the butcher or make it yourself from the following ingredients:

  • 600 grams of lean pork
  • 400 grams of pork belly meat
  • 25 grams of pickling salt
  • 300 grams of ice snow
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 4 grams of pepper
  • 3/4 tablespoon ground marjoram
  • 1/4 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 3/4 tablespoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tablespoon ground thyme

How to prepare the dough

When you have all the ingredients together, you can start preparing the dough:

  1. First, cut the meat into small pieces and then place it in the refrigerator for about half an hour.
  2. Then add the spices to the pieces of meat and mix everything together well.
  3. Now chop the meat with a meat grinder for about 2 minutes. Use the fastest rotation so that the meat is chopped very small.
  4. Now you need ice snow or flake ice. To do this, put ice cubes in a cutter or food processor and chop them as small as possible.
  5. Then mix the ice snow with the meat mixture and put the mixture back into the food processor until it is very fine.
  6. Now grease a square and cooled mold with the coconut oil and pour in the finished mass. Then smooth them out.
  7. Now the meatloaf is ready for baking. To do this, it has to be put in the oven at 160 °C top and bottom heat for about 90 minutes.
