Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 900 g puff pastry
- 500 g almond(s), coarsely chopped
- 100 g breadcrumbs
- 100 g sugar
- 250 g butter, melted
- Cinnamon
- Clove(s), ground
- 300 g sugar, for the syrup and
- 250 g honey
- Cinnamon
- 5 carnations
- 400 ml water
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 45 minutes
Turkish dessert
Mix the nuts, sugar, breadcrumbs, cinnamon, and ground cloves. Place a third of the puff pastry in a buttered dish and brush with butter. Spread half of the nut mixture on top. Place the dough on top. Brush with butter again. Spread the rest of the nut mixture on top. Butter the top layer of puff pastry and cut it. Sprinkle with water. Bake at about 150°C until golden brown. Boil the syrup made from the sugar, honey, cinnamon, cloves, and water for about 10 minutes. Pour the hot syrup over the baked baklava and let it sit for a few hours.
