Ball noodles for little gourmets

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 150 g pasta, small, of your choice
  • 1 can corn kernels
  • 1 handful of peas, frozen
  • 2 sausages, fresh coarse
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • 1 handful of cheese, grated, e.g. Emmental, Gruyère or Gouda
  • salt and pepper
  • Fat for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Daycare-tested, quick to prepare, delicious with corn, peas and sausage balls

Cook the pasta (I always use extra-small varieties made especially for children) according to the instructions, adding the peas for the last 2 minutes. Drain in a sieve, return to the pan, and stir in the corn kernels. Finally, stir in the crème fraîche and season with salt and pepper. While the pasta is cooking, form small dumplings from the fresh bratwurst. Fry these in a little hot cooking fat (oil or clarified butter) until crispy and cooked through. Finally, mix the pasta and sausage dumplings together, adding the cooking fat as well. Stir in the grated cheese and mix everything well. If the dish is too thick, you can add a few tablespoons of water. My day-care children eat their plates clean and are particularly enthusiastic about the bratwurst balls. Adults also enjoy this dish, although I recommend adding a little garlic, chili peppers, and herbs. You can also use feta cheese instead of grated Emmental. I can also imagine mixing in arugula. The amount given above is enough for three hungry children.
