Balsamic Nut Coins

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 120 g nuts, ground
  • 4 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 300 g flour
  • 130 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 g butter, soft
  • 1 egg(s)
  • n. B. Vanilla sugar, for rolling

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 9 hours 20 minutes

Heat the balsamic vinegar in a saucepan and add the nuts. Mix well and let stand overnight. The next day, knead all ingredients into a smooth dough. Divide the dough in half and shape each into a log. Sprinkle a little vanilla sugar on the work surface and roll the logs in it until they are well coated with the sugar. Wrap the logs in cling film and place in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Cut approximately 4 mm thick slices from the logs and place them on a baking sheet. Bake at 160°C (fan oven) for about 12-15 minutes, until they begin to brown slightly.
