Bavarian Pan

The perfect bavarian pan recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 300 g Leberkäs’
  • 1 Red pepper
  • 600 g Potatoes
  • 1 Sting Butter
  • Milk
  • 0,5 bunch Chives
  • Roasted onions
  • Salt pepper
  • Nutmeg
  • 150 g Grated mountain cheese
  • Fat to fry
  1. Peel the potatoes, cut into pieces, cook in salted water and drain. Add a trick of butter and use (slightly warmed up) milk to make a “sloppy” mashed potatoes. Top it off with nutmeg. Wash the chives, shake dry, cut into fine rolls and stir them into the mashed potatoes.
  2. Cut the meat loaf into cubes. Wash, clean and dice the peppers. Heat the fat in a pan and briefly fry the diced meatloaf and diced paprika in it
  3. Add the mashed potatoes and mix everything together well, season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the potato-meat loaf into a baking dish (or four small ones) and sprinkle with the grated mountain cheese and fried onions.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until the cheese has melted and browned golden.
