Bean soup Heinz Special

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slice(s) Kasseler, cut into cubes
  • 4 potatoes, cut into cubes
  • 1 kg beans, green (bush beans), in 1 – 2 cm pieces
  • 2 jars of tomatoes, dried, chopped
  • 2 bunch soup vegetables, cleaned, finely diced
  • 1 liter vegetable broth
  • 3 tsp savory, chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • Clarified butter
  • 1 onion(s), chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Melt the clarified butter in a pot, sauté the onions until translucent, then gradually add the beans, soup vegetables, and potatoes. Sauté briefly, then deglaze with the vegetable stock. Simmer for 20 minutes. Then add the smoked pork, tomatoes, and savory and simmer for another 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
