Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g beef fillet(s)
- 500 g beans, green
- 300 g carrot(s)
- 2 garlic cloves (squeezed)
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 125 ml rice wine
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp oil
- salt and pepper
- Spice mix (Chinese spice)
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
First cut the beef fillet into slices and then into thin strips. Crush the garlic, add it to the beef fillet with the soy sauce, mix, and let it marinate for about 1 hour. Roast the sesame seeds in a dry pan until golden brown, then let it cool. Wash and trim the green beans and cut into pieces about 5 cm long. Clean and peel the carrots and slice or grate them into thin sticks about 5 cm long. Cook the beans in salted water for about 20 minutes until al dente. Shortly before the end of the cooking time, add the carrots and cook briefly (the cooking time for the carrots depends on the thickness of the sticks). Drain and let drain in a sieve. Heat oil in a wok and fry the marinated beef fillet for 2-3 minutes. Add the beans and carrots and fry briefly. Season with salt, pepper, and Chinese spices. Mix the cornstarch with the rice wine to thicken the meat and vegetables slightly. Finally, sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds. Serve with basmati rice.
