Beef goulash in Guinness

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg beef goulash
  • 25 g flour
  • 400 g carrot(s)
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 330 ml beer (Guinness)
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vinegar (apple cider vinegar)
  • 3 bay leaves
  • salt and pepper
  • Thyme

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Coat the meat in flour. Slice the onions and slice the carrots. Heat the oil and bay leaves in a saucepan. Remove the bay leaves after a while and fry the meat in the oil until browned on all sides. Remove the meat from the saucepan and sauté the onions, followed by the sliced ​​carrots. Add the meat and sugar, sauté again, and deglaze everything with the Guinness. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook in a preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius for about 2 hours. Add the apple cider vinegar 30 minutes before the end of the baking time. Tastes best with bread and a salad.
