Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg beef goulash
- 25 g flour
- 400 g carrot(s)
- 2 onions
- 2 tbsp oil
- 330 ml beer (Guinness)
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp vinegar (apple cider vinegar)
- 3 bay leaves
- salt and pepper
- Thyme
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Coat the meat in flour. Slice the onions and slice the carrots. Heat the oil and bay leaves in a saucepan. Remove the bay leaves after a while and fry the meat in the oil until browned on all sides. Remove the meat from the saucepan and sauté the onions, followed by the sliced carrots. Add the meat and sugar, sauté again, and deglaze everything with the Guinness. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook in a preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius for about 2 hours. Add the apple cider vinegar 30 minutes before the end of the baking time. Tastes best with bread and a salad.
