Beef goulash in the house style

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 1,200 g beef goulash, cut large pieces in half against the grain
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp flour, approx.
  • 3 large potatoes, floury, in small pieces
  • 2 m.-sized carrot(s), thinly sliced
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, squeezed
  • 1 tsp marjoram, dried
  • 750 ml beef broth
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 6 hours 15 minutes; Total time approx. 6 hours 35 minutes

a recipe for the crockpot / slow cooker

This recipe is designed for a 3.5 L crockpot (CP). First, briefly brown the beef stew in hot oil in a separate pan. Let it cool slightly and then add it to the CP. Lightly season with salt and pepper and dust with flour. Then add the remaining dry ingredients and mix well, finally adding the broth. Drizzle with Worcestershire sauce. Stir well again and cover. The cooking time is approximately 6 hours on high or 9 hours on low. Stir and season again if necessary before serving.
