Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 2 large onions
- 1 head of white cabbage
- 800 g minced beef
- 750 ml vegetable broth, preferably home-cooked
- 2 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
- salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp sugar, brown or white
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours
Peel and dice the onions. Slice or shred the white cabbage into even strips. Fry the minced meat until crumbly. Add the onions and sauté until translucent. Add the white cabbage, pour in about 100 ml of vegetable stock, and simmer. Add the spices and sugar. Add a little more stock at a time and simmer with the lid on for about 1 hour. Season with salt and pepper. We eat it with boiled potatoes, but it also goes well with basmati rice or spaetzle. Tip: You can also cook it the day before; then everything will be even more marinated.
