Beef strips with chocolate noodles

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g beef strips
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 2 carrots
  • 500 g tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • 1 tsp. curry paste, red
  • 150 g cream
  • 350 ml beef broth
  • 150 ml red wine
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • 400 g pasta (chocolate pasta)
  • possibly sauce thickener

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Wash the peppers, tomatoes, and carrots, peel the carrots, and cut everything into small pieces. Rinse the meat and pat dry. Brown in batches in hot oil. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika, then remove. Add the paprika paste and sauté. Pour in the wine and simmer until completely reduced. Pour in the stock and return the meat. Add the carrots, diced tomatoes, cloves, and peppercorns; cover and simmer for 60 minutes. Add the paprika and cream and cook for a further 20 minutes. Remove the cloves and peppercorns and season with salt, pepper, and curry paste, thickening the sauce if desired. Cook the chocolate noodles in sugar water according to the package instructions. Drain the noodles and serve with the strips.
