Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg beetroot, unpeeled
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- salt and pepper
- 150 g bacon, diced
- 2 onions, diced
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
similar to red cabbage
Cook the beetroot with the skin on. Let it cool slightly, peel, and coarsely grate. Season with vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Fry the bacon in a pan and sauté the diced onion. Pour over the beetroot and stir in. Season to taste and serve.
