Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g sugar
  • 65 g apple syrup
  • 1 bottle of rum flavoring
  • 1 pinch of clove pepper
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 250 g flour
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 65 g chocolate
  • 35 g hazelnuts
  • 35 g candied lemon peel
  • 4 tbsp, heaped powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Beat the eggs, sugar, applesauce, rum flavoring, clove pepper, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy. Combine the flour and baking powder and fold into the batter. Chop the chocolate and candied lemon peel and add to the batter. Finally, add the hazelnuts and spread the batter onto a prepared baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (top/bottom heat) for 25 minutes. Mix the lemon juice and powdered sugar to make a glaze and spread it over the cake base. Cut into strips.
