Oven-baked tomato sauce – the tastiest and easiest tomato sauce you can make in the oven!

Halve the tomatoes and remove the stems. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and sprinkle 1.5 tablespoons of sugar on top. Place the halved tomatoes cut-side down on the sugar-dusted parchment paper and roast on the top rack of the oven at 250°C for 15-20 minutes. Once the tomato skin is lightly blackened and can be easily removed, remove the baking sheet from the oven and remove all of the tomato skin. Crush the tomatoes with a fork, add the garlic, thyme, olive oil, a little salt, and pepper, and mix well. Simmer at 150°C for about 60 minutes, remove from the oven, and season again with salt and pepper.
