Best vegan wholesome waffles

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour, type 1050
  • 125 g raw cane sugar, agave syrup or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp cream of tartar baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 500 ml almond milk (almond drink)
  • 3 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 100 ml carbonated mineral water
  • 3 m.-sized apples
  • 50 g hazelnuts, ground
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp rum

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Cut the apples into small pieces, place them in a bowl, and add the sugar or syrup, cinnamon, and rum. Mix everything well. Let it sit for a while. Combine all the dry ingredients in a large bowl, add the sunflower oil, mineral water, and almond milk, and mix well. When the batter is smooth, stir in the apples and the sugar/cinnamon/rum mixture. Bake in batches in the waffle iron. Tip: You can easily make your own almond milk using almond butter (available from organic stores) and water.
