Bibimbap is a popular Korean recipe. In this article, we will tell you which ingredients you need for an authentic recipe and how best to proceed with the preparation.

Authentic Bibimbap Recipe – The Ingredients

To cook a traditional Korean dish, you need the following ingredients:

  • 600 grams of short grain rice
  • 340 grams of bean sprouts
  • 230 grams of spinach
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 large zucchini
  • 1 cucumber
  • 3 green onions
  • 250 grams of lean beef
  • 4 eggs
  • vegetable oil
  • sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds
  • Salt
  • garlic
  • soy sauce
  • honey or sugar
  • Spicy paste

Here’s how to prepare everything

Before you can start cooking the dish, you have to prepare a few things:

  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  2. To prepare the bean sprouts, you need to cook them in a liter of water with 2 teaspoons of salt for about 20 minutes over medium heat with the lid on. When the time is up, take out half the sprouts and leave the other half in the water for later serving as a soup.
  3. Mix the other half with 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, and 2 teaspoons sesame oil.
  4. Place the spinach in a microwave-safe bowl and fill it with water. If the wattage is high, the spinach must now be microwaved for about 2 minutes. In the time, prepare a bowl of cold water and ice to put the spinach in once the time is up.
  5. Cut the blanched spinach into small pieces and mix with 1 teaspoon of garlic, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds.
  6. Now prepare the other vegetables: cut the carrots into fine strips and mix them with a pinch of salt, deseed the peppers, and cut them into thin strips as well. Do the same with the zucchini.
  7. Cut the cucumber in half lengthwise and cut it into thin slices. Salt the cucumber and zucchini.
  8. Also, chop the green onions and a few cloves of garlic.
  9. Also, fry the eggs into fried eggs.
  10. Now for the meat: cut it into thin strips and mix it with 1 teaspoon garlic, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon honey, 2 teaspoons sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon sesame seeds. Then place the meat covered in the fridge.
