Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 150 g lard
  • 150 g butter
  • 175 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 tsp ammonium bicarbonate
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 20 minutes

Cream lard, butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Knead in the flour and baking powder. Divide the dough in half and knead one half with the cocoa powder. Wrap the dough in cling film and chill for 3 hours. Shape the dough into walnut-sized balls and flatten slightly with a spoon. Bake in an oven preheated to 200°C for about 15 minutes.
