Spread the love

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 500 g beef
  • 500 g pork
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 500 g hunting sausage
  • 500 g smoked belly
  • 500 g mushrooms
  • 500 g bell pepper(s)
  • 500 g tomatoes
  • 500 g onion(s)
  • 1 bottle of Hungarian-style paprika sauce
  • 2 cups whipped cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours

Chop all ingredients into small pieces and layer them alternately in a large pan. I always add the onions last; they’re delicious even when sizzled brown. Peppers, for example, sometimes become bitter. Simmer uncovered in the oven at 175 degrees Celsius for 2 hours. Do not add any liquid; the meat and vegetables will release their own juices. Remove the pan, stir in the paprika sauce and heavy cream, and simmer in the oven for another half hour. This goes perfectly with fresh baguette; rice and potatoes are also delicious.
