How to Beautifully Wrap a Gift for the New Year: Top 3 Best Ideas

Everyone loves New Year’s gifts – from small to large, but a special joy brings unpacking the presentation.

How to wrap a gift in the paper – the classic way

This option will suit those who bought a rectangular or square gift – it is easiest to wrap, and you do not have to spend a lot of money to make it look festive. Find some at home:

  • wrapping paper;
  • scissors;
  • double-sided tape;
  • Regular tape.

Lay out the wrapping paper on the table and place the gift on top. On the narrow side of the gift, measure out as much paper as you will need to cover a 3¾” portion of the gift. Do the same with the other side of the gift and cut the paper off.

Then place the wide side of the gift on the narrow edge of the paper. Turn it over on its side, place it down, and set it down again. Measure out 5 cm from the gift and cut the paper along the line. Turn the gift on the side where it will be opened. Put the narrow edge of the paper in the middle of the top edge and fix it with normal scotch tape. Glue a piece of double-sided tape to the opposite edge of the paper. Tape this edge to the far edge of the top plane of the gift.

Secure the side pieces – point the bottom one up and tape it down, do the same with the top piece of paper. In the end, fold up the sides and tape them down. Run your fingers over the package so the edges are as crisp as possible. Do the same with the back side of the gift.

How to wrap a round gift in a beautiful bag

If you bought a gift with a round, oval, or any other similar shape, it is more difficult to wrap it than a square or rectangular object.

  • wrapping paper;
  • scissors;
  • ribbon;
  • double-sided adhesive tape.

Cut a large piece of wrapping paper and place it face down. Place the gift in the center of the paper and join the two opposite ends of the wrapping to create a headband. Do the same with the other ends of the paper, and then clamp it with your hand where it contacts the gift. For security, secure it with tape and tie it with a ribbon. In the end, straighten the ends of the paper to make the wrapping look spectacular.

How to wrap a gift without a box, if it is alcohol

Expensive alcohol – quite a common gift that you can buy a person for any holiday, including the New Year. Not always high-end liquor is sold in a box – in this case, the bottle will have to pack itself. Buy in a stationery store:

  • wrapping paper;
  • double-sided tape;
  • …double-sided tape; …ordinary tape;
  • Corrugated paper.

From the wrapping paper and corrugated paper, cut two rectangles larger than the gift bottle. One piece of paper should be slightly smaller than the other – place the larger piece on the table, and the smaller one on top of it. Then turn the paper over so that the smaller piece is at the bottom, and place the bottle in the corner on the larger piece. Wrap the bottle in the paper, constantly tucking the edge near the bottom. When the paper runs out, secure it with tape. Place the bottle on a table, pinching the edge of the paper at the top. Tie it with a ribbon and get ready to give it to the recipient.
