On any furniture, even if it is properly cared for, sooner or later stains appear. Stains that are not removed immediately dry out and become dark, and it is not an easy task to clean them.

How to clean the sofa from old stains with a solution of baking soda and vinegar

This method of cleaning the sofa is suitable for furniture made of any material, except leather and leatherette. You will need:

  • warm water – 1 l;
  • dishwashing liquid – 4 tablespoons;
  • soda – 2 tablespoons;
  • glycerin – 2-4 tablespoons;
  • 9% vinegar – 8 tablespoons;
  • brush and sponge.

Pour warm water into a bowl, and dissolve soda and dishwashing liquid. Pour the glycerin, stir, then add the vinegar and stir again. Moisten a sponge or brush in the solution and rub the couch thoroughly in places where the dirt accumulates. Then collect the foam, dab it on the stains, and leave it for 1 hour.

After that, clean the couch again, but this time with a clean sponge or cloth, rinsing it regularly under running water. In the end, be sure to dry the couch with a hair dryer to avoid rotting the fabric.

How to dry-clean the sofa at home with laundry soap

An alternative option for quick cleaning of the sofa – is the way of our mothers and grandmothers, who used everything at hand, instead of aggressive household chemicals. For cleaning you need:

  • warm water – 1 l;
  • laundry soap or dishwashing liquid;
  • a brush or sponge.

Pour warm water into a bowl and dissolve in it grated laundry soap or a few tablespoons of dishwashing liquid. The solution should be saturated with a lot of foam. Soaking the sponge in the prepared product, rub it into the couch, paying particular attention to old stains. In the end, rinse the sponge and rinse the solution from the furniture upholstery. Do this until the sponge is clean and there is no trace of detergent left on the sofa. In the end, dry the furniture with a hair dryer.

How to clean greasy spots on the couch with shaving foam

This option will suit those who have sofas made of any materials, except leather and leatherette. As you can see, shaving foam can be used not only for its intended purpose but also as a fabric cleaner. Before starting the process, prepare:

  • Shaving foam;
  • a sponge or brush;
  • clean water.

You need to apply a thick layer of shaving foam to the stain you are embarrassed about. Then take a sponge or brush, and rub it intensely on the couch. Do this until the stain disappears, and then wash the sponge under running water, wipe the couch clean, and dry it with a hair dryer.
