Products That Lower Blood Pressure

Many people suffer from high blood pressure these days. Hypertension is becoming a lifelong companion of millions around the world and increases the risk of developing heart failure, heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.

This disease requires daily medication for high blood pressure and significantly worsens the quality of life.

Did you know that only food can significantly reduce high blood pressure?

Scientists have found through research that food contains substances that are essential for hypertensive patients, namely

  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Calcium
  • Potassium
  • Magnesium
  • Omega-3 fatty acids
  • Folic acid

If you add foods to your diet that contain a lot of these substances, then high blood pressure will definitely begin to decrease and may return to normal. Of course, you should not stop taking medications without a doctor’s permission. It can be dangerous. And it is clear that it is difficult to lower blood pressure in one week, it takes time. Let’s see what foods contain the necessary substances.

Vitamin C is found in large quantities in citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, grapefruits), bell peppers, cauliflower, kiwi, melon, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and strawberries.

Vitamin E is found in blueberries, almonds, hazelnuts, sunflowers, olives, parsley, spinach, papaya, and sunflower oil.

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in flaxseed oil, walnuts, herring, mackerel, halibut, salmon, and tuna.

Skim milk and other low-fat dairy products contain calcium and vitamin D (it improves calcium absorption). Green vegetables, almonds, and sardines are rich in calcium.

Bananas, dried apricots, oranges, tuna, tomatoes, baked potatoes with peel, watermelons, zucchini, and spinach are sources of potassium.

With high blood pressure, garlic is needed every day. It dilates blood vessels very well, which helps to lower blood pressure. It should be consumed in 1-2 cloves, but daily.

Coriander, marjoram, bay leaf, celery, dill, and parsley are recognized as useful spices for hypertensive patients.

For high blood pressure, you can use traditional medicine recipes:

Dissolve 1 tablespoon of honey in a glass of mineral water, add the juice of half a lemon, and drink it all in one sitting.

A glass of fresh cranberries, grind with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and heat 1 tablespoon of the mixture 3 times a day for half an hour before meals.

Scroll the raisins through a meat grinder, cover them with water, bring them to a boil, and cool them. The mixture should be prepared at the rate of 100 raisins per 1 glass of water. Drink the mixture throughout the day.

Take 1/3 cup of chokeberry juice daily or ¼ cup of fresh black currant juice daily. This will help lower high blood pressure.

Pass a few oranges and lemon through a meat grinder, add a little sugar, and take 1 tablespoon of the mixture several times a day for 2 weeks.

Boiled or baked beets, eaten on an empty stomach, are very good for lowering blood pressure. You can make a salad with sunflower oil.

  1. Low-fat cottage cheese strengthens the heart, promotes vasodilation, and is a source of calcium, magnesium, and potassium. You need at least 100 grams of cottage cheese daily.
  2. Red bell pepper contains a record amount of vitamin C. Therefore, hypertensive patients should consume it whenever possible. Eating 2 fresh peppers daily will cover the body’s need for vitamin C.
  3. Salmon is a source of omega-3 fatty acids and is great for lowering high blood pressure. It is good if you can eat it 3 times a week, 100-150 grams.
  4. Oatmeal should be on the menu of hypertensive patients every morning. Studies have shown that oats are a source of selenium replenishment and are high in fiber. 
  5. Pumpkin seeds will replenish zinc deficiency and prevent a heart attack. It is enough to eat 20 grams a day instead of a snack.



  6. Cocoa improves the condition of blood vessels. But it is a high-calorie drink. 1-2 cups a week is enough, no more.



  7. Skim milk contains potassium, calcium, magnesium, and vitamins and improves the condition of hypertension. You can drink up to 3 glasses a day.



  8. Bitter chocolate strengthens the heart muscle, contains antioxidants, and can reduce blood pressure by 5-10 mm. But it is a very high-calorie product, and you do not need large quantities of it.



  9. Almonds contain mono fats and lower cholesterol. This nut contains potassium, magnesium, and vitamin E – all that is needed to lower blood pressure.


  10. Green tea, when consumed regularly, dissolves cholesterol plugs, contains many antioxidants, and prevents the aging process. In Japan, almost no one suffers from hypertension, and the world’s largest drinker of green tea.
