  2. Refrigerate the berries overnight and let them steep.
  3. The next day, spread the berries among jars. Make sure the glasses are disinfected to prevent germs from forming. Use mason jars or screw-top jars that can be closed easily.
  4. Boil the blackberries. You can preserve the jars in different ways. It works best in a pot. Then store the berries in a cool, dark place. The cooked blackberries have a shelf life of between six months and a year.

Boil blackberries as jam: Instructions

Blackberries can also be boiled down in the form of a jam. All you need is 500 g blackberries and 250 g preserving sugar.

  1. Prepare the blackberries. Then put them in a saucepan.
  2. Mash the berries lightly with a fork. Add the jam sugar and mix well.
  3. Boil the berries. Take the pot off the stove and then puree the mixture with the immersion blender.
  4. Pass the hot jam through a sieve.
  5. Fill the collected mass into disinfected glasses. It is best to use screw-top jars that close well. Let the jars cool down. Put them in a cool, dark place. The jam can be kept for up to a year.
