Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 5 m.-sized potatoes
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Oil or butter for frying
  • e.g. breadcrumbs

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

“Bollerklöaß” – The recipe comes from my grandmother.

Peel and chop the potatoes, and cook in salted water. Drain and mash or press them through a ricer. Sprinkle the flour over the potatoes and mix in. With wet hands, form potato patties and fry them on all sides in oil or hot butter in a pan. You can also coat the dumplings in breadcrumbs before frying. They are delicious as a main course with vegetables or salad. For a sweeter version, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the hot dumplings and serve with applesauce or preserved fruit.
