  • 2 m.-sized eggs
  • 75 g sugar
  • 75 g butter, melted
  • 20 g yeast, fresh
  • 200 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp Nutella
  • 2 tbsp milk, warm

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 5 minutes

Yeast plait with Nutella filling

Mix the fresh yeast with 3 tablespoons of warm milk and 2 teaspoons of sugar and let it rise, covered, for 15 minutes. In the meantime, sift the flour and put it in a large bowl. Add the eggs, sugar, melted butter, salt and the remaining warmed milk to the middle of the flour. Only use the milk and butter when lukewarm! Mix it into the dough with a fork or a hand mixer. Finally, knead in the yeast and let the dough rise in a covered bowl in a warm place for at least 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, punch the dough down again and divide it in half. Let it rise for another 20 minutes. Then roll out the first dough with a rolling pin and place it in a springform pan. Mix the Nutella and warm milk and spread it over the dough. Roll out the second dough and place it in the springform pan on top of the Nutella layer. Now cut into 12 equal cake slices. Turn two adjacent slices in opposite directions, then the next two, until all have been turned. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat) and let the dough rise again during the preheating time. Brush with water or milk before baking and then bake for about 20 minutes.
