Braised beef with zucchini

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg beef, cut into approx. 4 cm cubes
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground pepper
  • 1 medium-sized onion(s), diced
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ tsp marjoram, dried
  • 1 medium-sized green bell pepper(s), cut into strips
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 stalk(s) celery, cut into 3 cm pieces
  • 6 m.-sized potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 2 small zucchini, cut into 2 1/2 cm thick slices
  • 2 flour

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Slow Cooker Recipe

Heat oil in a pan and brown the meat well, season with half the salt and pepper, and remove from the pan. Sauté the onion until translucent and add to the crock pot. Dissolve the stock in the frying pan with the water and add to the crock pot. Add all the remaining ingredients and seasonings, stir well, and place the meat on top. Simmer on “LOW” for 8-9 hours. Before serving, arrange the meat and vegetables on a platter, thicken the sauce with flour if desired (I didn’t do this), and serve with the sauce.
