Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 white cabbage (or savoy cabbage)
  • 100 g bacon, streaky, diced
  • 500 g sausage (cooked sausage), sliced
  • margarine
  • n. B. Onion(s), diced
  • e.g. apples, in pieces
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 small can of tomato paste
  • Meat broth
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Clean, wash, and quarter the cabbage, remove the stalks, and finely grate them. Fry the bacon cubes in fat, sauté the onion cubes until translucent, add the sugar, stir in the tomato paste, and stir in the cabbage and apple pieces in portions (let them collapse). Add the meat broth, season with salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 30 minutes. Add slices of cooked sausage occasionally. Variation: The sausage can be replaced with cubes of separately cooked beef or braised ground beef.
